Meet the Doctors

Leading the clinic are two renowned specialists in Philippine dental care: Dr. Lourdes Paras-Caparas, currently the chairman of the Philippine Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and Dr. Maria Teresa Paras-Goduco, a diplomate of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics. Both with more than 20 years’ experience, the doctors know best how to help kids get the healthiest smile.

Dr. Lourdes Paras-Caparas | Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Caparas’ practice as a pediatric dentist extends over two decades. Her expertise as a Pediatric Dentist focuses on pediatric dental care of infants, children and teenagers for which she completed 3 additional years of post graduate education following dental school.

She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines. She completed her 3 year residency program at the University of Pittsburgh for which she received a Masters Degree in Dental Science and a graduate specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, graduating with honors.

Dr. Caparas' interest in the latest and most technologically advanced dental equipment stems from her passion for providing patients with the most comfortable dental experience available. She obtained her training in Lasers for Oral Applications from the SOLA Laser Institute in 2011.

Dr. Caparas is the Chairman of the Philippine Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She served as the founding president of the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society, Inc.

She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Philippine Dental Association and a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

She served as Clinical Instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry. She also served as Consultant for Training for the Philippine Childrens Medical Center (Lungsod ng Kabataan) and the Pediatric Dentistry Center at the Childrens Medical Center Philippines (Dr. Fe del Mundo Medical Center).

Dr. Maria Teresa Paras-Goduco | Orthodontic Dentist

Dr. Goduco's practice as an orthodontist spans almost two decades. Over that period, she has focused her practiced on orthodontic treatment for children, adolescents and young adults.

A graduate of the University of the Philippines in 1990, she was one of the top 20 placers in the dental licensure examination that same year. The specialty of orthodontics requires at least  two additional years of post graduate dental education following dental school. Dr. Goduco braved the cold weather in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for two years where she obtained her Masters of Science degree and Advanced Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics from Marquette University. She has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics since 1994.

Dr. Goduco is a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics (PBO), an officer of the Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO), a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) and Philippine Dental Association (PDA).

Dr. Tessa Jacomina-Ablaza | Caparas-Goduco Dental Specialists

Dr. Tessa Ablaza graduated from the University of the East in 1992. She completed the externship pediatric dentistry program at the Philippine Children's Medical Center (Lungsod Ng Kabataan) in 1994.

At the University of the Philippines she underwent intensive training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. She honed her skills in Laser Dentistry under the tutelage of Professors Dr. Andreas Moritz and Dr. Manfred Wittschier. In 2011 she received her certification in Laser Dentistry after successfully passing the examinations of the SOLA International Laser Academy. Dr. Tessa has focused her practice on cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

Her active sons Xavi and Santi attend the International School Manila. And she also has a lovely daughter Rocio.

Dr. Maria Lourdes Torres-Garcia | Caparas and Goduco Dental Specialists

Dr. Maria Lourdes Torres-Garcia is a graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP), where she obtained her specialization in Orthodontics in 2010. She is the recipient of the Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Graduate Scholarship in Science and Engineering in 2009 for academic excellence.

Dr. Garcia earned her degree in Dental Medicine from U.P. in 2006, where she was consistently in the honors roster as a College Scholar. The same year, she topped the Philippine Dental Licensure Examination, placing 8th among more than three thousand examinees nationwide. In recognition of her scholastic achievements, Dr. Garcia received commendations from the U.P. President and Unilab Corporation.

In the national dental community, Dr. Garcia has had the distinct privilege of sharing her orthodontic knowledge and expertise as a Speaker at the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Conventions held in 2009 and 2010. Her work has also been peer-reviewed and published in the Philippine Journal of Orthodontics (PJO).

Dr. Garcia and her husband, Jet, have a son, Joachim.
